More snow

Fu un anno disastroso per gli agricoltori.

It was a disastrous year for the farmers.

La neve cadde e cadde finché il governo decise di intervenire e di aiutare.

The snow fell and fell until the government had to step in and help.

"Dev'essere stato terribile", disse un funzionario del governo a un agricoltore. "Tutta quella neve."

"It must have been terrible", said the government official to a farmer. "All that snow."

"Sarebbe potuta andare peggio. Il mio vicino ha avuto più neve di me", rispose l'agricoltore con calma.

"Could have been worse. My neighbor had more snow than me", answered the farmer calmly.

"Come mai?", chiese il funzionario del governo.

"How come?", asked the government official.

"Più terra", rispose l'agricoltore.

"More land", replied the farmer.
